Hello everyone. I'm pretty happy right now because I just got my letter of approval to CCW. It took a little over 2 months to get my letter. Now I have to decide, in the waist band or outside the waist band holster.

I'm guessing the letter instructs you to go down and pick up your actual license? Your License To Carry Firearms (LTCF) is the document you need to carry a concealed weapon in Pa. Good luck but make sure you actually have the license before you go carrying, and don't just rely on the letter.

As for the holster question, I would buy a couple cheap/used ones for different modes of carry until you figure out what you like best, then you can get a really good one.

Thanks. The letter said I was approved and that I have to go down in person, get my picture taken and sign my license. I gave them a picture when I applied for it in the first place. I have to get another picture taken?

Yes, you do. I believe they use the picture you give them to confirm your identity against your drivers license picture, then take a picture of their own for your license. Hey, the picture is part of the $25 fee. You might as well get it taken.

Assuming 2 months is approximately 60 days.

It should have, but it didn't. From what I have been reading here, i'm happy I got it at all here in Philadelphia.

According to Philly, it's 60 business days. The law doesn't specify if it's calendar days (two months) or business days (three months), so naturally Philly chose the version that is least beneficial to the citizen.

DM Bullard makes dual carry holsters that can be converted for IWB or OWB just by changing the included clips. I have one on order for my XDm.
