Looking to Relocate in the Next Couple of Years
Currently in Carroll County, MD, have relatives in White Oak, PA, and Warren, PA.
Looking in areas like Meadville, Northwest Harborcreek, Mill Creek, Fairview, Corry, Erie (outside the city limits), Franklin, Oil City, Barkyville, etc.
I'm early 60s retiree, with Maryland, and PA carry permits. Wife's family is in Warren and White Oak. Trying to be relatively halfway between both (though I may be off on the distances.
Looking for quieter neighborhoods, where people take care of their homes, and property.
Typical middle class suburbanite slob (as Denis Leary would say).
Grateful on any input you all might have.

Re: Looking to Relocate in the Next Couple of Years
Hopefully the housing market come back around in the next couple of years for you. Right now it's a battle to find anything worth while up here and if you do find something it's an instant bidding war. There's a lot of area between White Oak and Warren, you should be able to find something to suit your needs.

Re: Looking to Relocate in the Next Couple of Years
I've always liked the area around Franklin and Oil City, (Mauers gun shop is a must see, and there's some really nice homes in the subdivision behind Hilltop Hardware off Rt8) but basically pick a point midway between White Oak and Warren and visit there. A lot of forest and mountainy area, and you're halfway between Erie and Pittsburgh if you need to go to a city for anything. There's a lot of places to visit. Cooks Forest, etc.
It will depend on your budget and what you're looking for.
Anywhere north of I-80 will get more snow, although north of Meadville will be worse!

Welcome.
"Looking for quieter neighborhoods, where people take care of their homes, and property."
Not me, don't want to be able to see my neighbors.
However if you find yourself interested in anything over near Clarion county hit me up.
May have some input. Good luck.It ain't what they call you, it's what you answer to.

I am assuming that western Pennsylvania is as intense of a seller's market as.eastern Pennsylvania. Prices are high, which are more workable if you have a house to sell in this process.
