    Default Turkish venom 9mm ammo

I got 500 rounds of venom brand 9mm ammo for 105$ at a gunshow. I assumed it would be pretty bad quality. I shot it through a variety of czs and a sig 365 with no problems at all. Definitely worth picking up for range ammo.

Turkish ammo has a history of poor quality control. I've seen too many documented castastrophic firearm failures to risk it. I'm referring go the modern production stuff. Not the mid '60s .30-06 or the pre WWII 8mm machine gun ammo blowing up mausers.

I have shot a bunch of ZQI 5.56. It was the only thing around during one of the ammo droughts for a decent price. Didn't have any problems with it, but it was noticeably less accurate than most.

They do make great pistols though.

I think for the most part the modern Turkish ammo will work, but they have a lower standard of quality control so your odds of getting a bad round are higher than when buying the other options on the market. Given this, I won't buy it or recommend it. I have read online and seen in person some guns totally destroyed and mildly injured shooters by ammo from new foreign sources. I would rather spend a little more for better ammo.

Also, my understanding is that the Turkish arms and ammo factories are state owned, and control of the factories has changed as the political winds have blown. This can cause ammo quality to go up and down, which we have certainly seen over time. The ZQI rifle ammo was good to go as far as I can recall.
