The good old TSA
Last Thanksgiving we flew to Dallas via AA. Decided not to take my carry gun this time due to the outbreak of stupidity.on the way back at Dallas Airport I had purchased a 9mm conversion barrel for my glock 23 so I declared it as a gun part. The girl at the counter freaked out so I opened my suitcase and showed it to her. She stared at it in disbelief and wanted to know if it was loaded. My wife picked up the little 4" barrel and looked through it at her, and said does it look loaded? After going through 2 supervisor's they straightened it out and we went on our way. Every time I hear the TSA bragging about confiscating thousands of guns I wonder how when they have people working at their counters that don't know what a gun looks like.

Re: The good old TSA
I guess the point I was trying to make, although not doing very good at it is that the TSA is not friendly to law biding gun owners traveling by air. Their rules are somewhat vague hoping the average person will make a mistake, therfore bolstering their reputation. I have flown before with a gun but now can't trust these people at all.

Re: The good old TSA
Maybe there will be a mass firing of TSA employees...
On that note, I'm not shedding any tears for the 'thousands' of probationary federal employees losing their jobs. It's been like .1%. If those jobs and their skillsets are important, those people should have no problem finding gainful employment in the private sector. But alas, who can make $60k annually sitting in a booth directing people into a parking lot?

Re: The good old TSA
What counter were you at? Checking luggage or going through TSA security? If you were checking a bag, then you spoke to an AA employee. If you had a suitcase going through TSA security then it had to be a carry on. I am confused. The DOJ forbids any gun part to be carried on.
