    Default Guided hunting

As a father of two under 2 my time is limited and I don't have time to put in the work. I didn't get a deer this year and I've only field dressed two deer in my life and feel like I need to gut a few more before I'm ready to get after it myself. I was thinking that because my time is so limited, perhaps I'd go on a guided hunt here in PA, where success is nearly guaranteed, I can get some more field dressing practice and be thrilled to get a deer.

I live in Cumberland county and have been a PA resident since 2020 and have been hunting ever since. At 32 I'm still learning a lot and doing everything myself is a challenge as guys my age don't always have a mentor.

Looking for recommendations for a guided hunt, or your advice on which ones to avoid. Any deer is a trophy in my book and would prefer to not harvest a high fence deer just bc I want to learn and have some challenge.

I may be mistaken, but except for high fence hunts, I don’t believe guided hunts for deer are legal in PA. I think guided hunts only apply to elk, bobcats, and coyotes.

Another option would be to go with some buddies or maybe get into a deer camp and if someone shoots a deer meet them at the cabin and do all the gutting and skinning.
