Re: Remington 700’s
I love that 18" .308 rifle!
And I love the look of the stock on your 6.5 Creedmore.
Here are three Remington 700s from my late step father's collection.
I'm trying to decide which of these I'd like to hold on to. (among other rifles not shown)
I may need to sell off many of his guns to help my mother financially, but there are several of his rifles I'd love to keep for sentimental reasons.
I'm mostly interested in the rifles with stocks that he carved by hand.
Of the two blonde stocked rifles pictured, I know he did the thumbhole, but I'm not 100% certain yet about the one with the Monte Carlo stock.
(my mother may be able to verify when I get a chance to sit down with her to go over them)
Obviously the limited edition .222 is a factory stock.

Re: Remington 700’s
Those two stocks are the same except for color, both HS precision that came on factory Remington rifles, both have Remington butt pads.
As far as those Remington 700*s go, I*d say the limited edition 222 is probably the most valuable and definitely collectible. IMO can*t go wrong with any 700, they*re my favorite factory bolt guns. I been to Flags many times, my buddies dad was a master stock maker for them and his checkering was unreal.
Those are 3 fine examples, I*d keep them all if possible.
ETA: my guess would be that 222 is well north of 2k so if you do sell do some homework, some Remington limited editions are bringing good money.Last edited by arjohnson; April 24th, 2025 at 02:11 PM.

Re: Remington 700’s
Here's how much I know about bolt action rifles.
I always thought a Remington 700 was a .308 - didn't realize they were offered in many calibers.
There's no rush to sell any of them. Gonna do my research.
Gonna be hard to value a custom rifle though (and most of them are) because they are no longer in factory configuration, and "custom" is only worth what someone will pay for it - no matter that the blank of exotic wood alone cost $500 - not to mention the time/skill to hand finish them.Western PA PAFOA GROUP SHOOT May 17th @ PMSC - ALL WELCOME!!! Re: Remington 700’s
Agree, I would sell the 222 first. Unfortunately the best price would be gained through an auction house or gunbroker, which also means fees and taxes.
