    Default Remington 700 5r milspec 308

Picked this up a while ago here in the classifieds, original owner had it sent to Georgia precision to be cut and crowned to 18”, wish it was threaded but no big deal, may eventually get that done next. I like the 18” barrel as it has a nice balance to it.

Comes from the factory in a HS precision stock, 5r rifling with 1:11.2 RH twist. A Timney trigger was added and I set to 1 1/2#, badger ordnance 20 MOA pic rail, TPS extra low 30mm rings, vortex PST II ffp 3-15.

Worked up loads and got it shooting consistent 5 shot groups at .5” or better. For a factory gun it shoots great, can’t wait for weather to break a little to get out and shoot it again.

If you want it threaded take it to Bob the gunsmith at Legion Arms. He just did a heavy barrel Remington for me.

I actually can't, but it looked good and was suppressor ready. I took the rifle back to him to have it fitted in a new stock and he still has it. He also machined a thread protector matching the barrel contour. Very nice job.
