That said, while reviewing the online application, I found a few fields listed as required that are explicitly listed as optional on the official LTCF application. One is the email address, which, given that this is an online application, I could see as being "required if you opt to apply online." The other is employment and employer information.

So, overall, I'd say this was a big improvement, and I'd wager that if these remaining two issues were brought to the Sheriff's attention, he would address them as well.
Yeah, it needs to be brought to the attention of Permitium. The fillable PDF application for license to carry firearms on the Sheriff's Office website is the most recent SP 4-127 showing blocks 21-23 as optional. There is also a sign in their lobby that says, " References no longer needed". The applications that they have on hand have the references blocks blacked out.

Same with York County, but check employment data also. Totally irrelevant.
While many claim to support the right, precious few support the practice.

The Permitium process now shows that the employment block is no longer a required field. I heard from someone in the know that the requirement for the email is so that a profile can be made for Permitum correspondence and will not appear on the actual application.

I checked just before posting, but that was over the weekend. I also noted that email address is optional on the mail-in form.

WOW! Two days after it was mentioned in this thread, it was addressed!

I don't know who is doing what, but my money says someone from the Sheriff's office is monitoring this thread and working hard to ensure they comply with the law. I am impressed. I wish more sheriffs were this dedicated to following the law. Kudos to the sheriff, or whomever is doing this.
