Saturday morning
Well, I guess the info about hunting locations in Allegheny County will have to wait until next year. Think I'll have this one mounted. 10 pt taken at 10:00 Saturday morning in Washington County.
The little man is getting a taste for what it feels like when he gets old enough to go out!!

Re: Saturday morning
Very nice. One neck shot is all it takes! Screw wasting meat. What was the weapon of choice?

Re: Saturday morning
7mm Mag. 150gr. Remington Scirocco bonded. Overkill for the area I was in but it was the only weapon I had sighted in (have a shotgun I just put a rifled barrel on and bought some sabot slugs but haven't shot it in yet). Only overkill because the area I was in was kind of thick and I have been hunting in mostly open fields. I can tell you that round was not meant for close range. Remington's website says it expands effectively at any range but a 45 yd or so shot and the slug passed through with the entry and exit wounds being close to the same size. Not sure if it's because of fact it was a neck shot and it didn't hit any bone or anything but I don't think I'll use that particular round choice again unless I'm hunting open areas.

Nice buck. Don`t worry about the load unless you have houses close by and your worried about pass thru. Dead is dead.
