    Default Glock 19 vs

Just seeing what the general consensus is about the G19 in any GEN of your preference. Do you prefer it to others or are you over it and moved on to something else? Things like M&P, PDP, the Echelon or P320 anything else you have that you like in striker fired pistolas*.
I*m still rocking a GEN4 but I like the M&P quite a bit I had a PDP but the trigger was too light for a striker fired for my liking so I sold it. I*ve actually preferring my G26 more than my G19 for the last 5-6 months

I just switched to my Glock 19 Gen 2 which I bought in the early 1990*s. I have carried it on and off for years, usually in the winter after carrying a Glock 43 in the summer. I used to carry a Glock 27, but have shifted back to 9mm carry.

I am okay with the Glocks and Gen 2 style. I like the thumb groove on the newer models, but can live without it.

I bought my first Glock in 1994 when they passed the "Assault Weapons Ban" and I figured screw you to the G. If they didn't want me to have one, then that's all I wanted. My department never carried Glocks but they were my go to off duty gun.

I currently have a Gen3 and Gen4 and prefer the Gen4 for the ever so slightly smaller grip. Both shoot better than me and I don't anticipate ever selling them.

That being said, I also have a G48 which my wife has now taken due to her small hands. She shoots it very well and I would not feel undergunned carrying it.

I also have Shield Plus that has really grown on me for its accuracy and ease of carry.

Not sure if I answered your question but I have been more focused on getting better with any of the above and quit chasing the "latest greatest."

Glock itself has decided that G19 is best in some ways. The 47 is a 17 sized gun with the 19's RSA, will eventually phase out the 17.

Personally, I carry a 26/27, which ever is loaded at the time. At the moment it's the 27, I've got a stock of .40 I'm working through, will eventually phase it out.

But, I do like my 19. I'll probably get the 47 too, will call it my "Trump 2.0" lol.

Oh, and I don't mess with Glocks older than Gen4. My girlie hands just don't agree with the bulkier Gen3 on down. I also think the Gen4+ recoil spring is a much nicer setup.

For sure it absolutely is. From raw numbers, some loads of .40 are powerful than all versions of 9 and 45. Rumors of .40's death are greatly exaggerated. Watch for it to return to the FBI in a decade or two when they feel like wasting money again.

But handguns are all anemic vs rifles, .40 isn't as fun to shoot for a whole day and it's more expensive to boot. By "phase it out" I mean that while I'll probably never sell my G27 and I'm even considering adding back a 23, it is probably going to drop off my list of calibers that I keep entire cases of ammo of on hand at all times.

Haha I definitely can see them returning to it to spend more coin!!! I only buy a case at a time of it when I get to 300 rounds left I get another one. I have a 22 and 23 both gen 4 and both police trade ins. Oddly enough they both came with the NY trigger and I replaced them with stock Glock 5.5lb. They shoot great and I can shoot it quite a bit but will certainly know it the next day.
I have a shield plus in 9 and it*s making me want an M&P full size again but not sure it*s justified I*m also really liking the echelon compact but who knows.

My 27 has "California Game Warden" emblazoned across it.

Gen4 guns aren't kosher for Cali normies, I hope the fact that I carry it all the freakin' time pisses off a California politician.

19 is tough to beat, gen5 is the way to go if you*re going to buy one today. I don*t have a gen5 19, have a gen2 and gen4 19c but have a handful of gen5*s in other models and it*s IMO the best generation to date. Hoping someday the come out with gen5 C models, definitely get me a 19c if that ever happens.
    Today was a good day!

The GEN5 doesn*t work for me due to the right side slide stop hitting my finger and locking open with rounds in the mag. I had a GEN5 G26 I just traded for a GEN4 for this very reason. I*m sure I could have made it work but it happened more often than I was willing to deal with and never had a concern with GEN 3/4 guns so just went back to one I can utilize better
