I guess we will have to wait and see - and see how people react to being forced to attend classes as a trade off if it turns out that way.
The good news is with the SCOTUS decision on abortion being brought back to the state level I can't really see a LTCF being any different. Let each state decide what is required for residents of that state. If that means simply passing a background check then that is all that should be needed.

Once obtained it should be treated just like a driver license valid in all 50 states.

I paid about $450 the first time around and you don't need finger prints for the renewal, which will save me about $100.

I can agree. Since Philadelphia has relaxed the way LTCF*s are issued, I have seen numerous self inflicted shootings, accidental shootings, children shootings themselves or others with their parent*s firearms and newer LTCF carriers getting involved in improper shootings and incidents. With the Right, comes Responsibility.

Driver*s licenses usually require getting a permit first, which includes a physical or eye test at the minimum. And then after instruction, a practical test administered by an employee of the DMV.

In my head I was comparing the permit phase to the equivalent of the background check. As far as the practical test for driving that varies by state on what all someone has to do to pass the test.

That was my point, in PA they might not have to do anything extra, in Maryland they might have to shoot x number of shots etc and be range qualified. States are free to still enact their own requirements for residents on what is required to obtain the license.

Once the license is obtained it's valid in all 50 states just like a driver license. I don't have to take a drivers test to go out of state because my license is universal even though another state may have different "tests" to pass the initial license. I don't see why a conceal carry license should be any different.

Because the claim is that driving and licensing is a privilege and is not in the Constitution, whereas the 2nd Amendment IS in the Constitution. That is the difference.

I like Jen. But you hit the nail on the head.

I saw a meme that said constantly complaining about an issue without proposing a solution, is simply whining.
