Sent, not like it will do any good with Katie Muth.

    A few more questions...
What is a discharge resolution and is that how the minority party was able to bring a bill to the floor for a vote?
Can the majority party stop it before a vote?

    Thanks!

I just looked that up. It wasn't even passed on party lines. It was 109 to 92.

10-8-2024: "Resolution to discharge committee from further consideration of this bill presented."

It sounds like it didn't go to a vote.

Whereas the red flag law bill (1018) passed by 1 vote in the house back in 2023.

That’s right. The Republican leadership did not run the discharge resolutions. That’s good. The next window is week of October 21st. The emails are working. Keep up the good work.

A discharge resolution allows a group of Senators to discharge a bill from committee that has not been acted upon. It places the resolution on the calendar but the leadership does not have to bring it up for a vote. If the discharge passes, the bills would go to the floor for a vote. Again, the leadership is in control.
