Re: New Insurance (Homeowners, Automobile, Umbrella, & additional riders)
I believe that the agent is as important as the company. I use the DeAngelo Company and have for over 40 years. They are independent agents, and in that time, I have been with Nationwide,The Hartford, Erie, and Safeco. About every three years they take my existing policy and do comparisons to insure that we have the best price for our dollar. In fact it is currently being done for our December renewal and they already found a better price with another company for the same coverage limits and policies.

Re: New Insurance (Homeowners, Automobile, Umbrella, & additional riders)
I use American National now, since Chubb tried to fuck me with a huge adjustment increase in the rebuilding cost of our home. I was paying north of 3k per year for HO5 policy. They wanted to adjust my policy up another $800/yr. Told them to fuck off. Switched to American National...same policy with the existing limits and it saved us 1200 in the 1st yr alone. Added our car to the HO policy and we cut our premium by 50%. Since our broker contacted us a couple weeks ago, looks like we are switching again...since AN is going to get out of the personal lines business in a year or two. Switching over to Selective, which is going to save us 1400/yr on the combined policy of home/car. I am paying over 65% less now than I was over 2 years ago.
If you want my agents name...PM me. I am outside of PHL...burbs.

I'm also in SEPA and only Erie was competitive for me recently so that's who I switched to.
