5.7 by far simply for the penetration issue. .380ACP has a hard time reaching the necessary 12" penetration that is necessary for stopping your attackers. The 5.7 has more than enough penetration to handle this.

the fiveseven is the number 1 reason why i wish i was 21. the round origionally designed for the p90 is made to have characteristics similar to those of a frangible bullet, without being frangible. it enters a target, and turns sideways without deforming, but still wreaking havoc inside the target. by doing this, it works around some international law like the geneva convention, or something similar. plus, its auccurate up out to 100 yards, which to my understanding is pretty badass

from my understanding the 5.7 pistol has a deent Sa trigger and little to no percieved recoil. I would take the 5.7.
If I had to take an innefective or unproven round into a battle I would want the one that can be fired the easist accurately and quickly.

If I had to pick, I'd go 9-7. Just because its badass.

Re: 5.7x28 or 380ACP. Which would you choose?
I'd go with the 5.7, simply because i own both a USG and a PS90 SBR.
the pistol has negligable recoil and is super accurate, and a decent trigger.
its not an unproven round at all, when used in scenarios where its intended, 0-75yd personal defense engagements for the SMG, and 50m or less for the pistol.
regardless of people claiming its nothing but a 22magnum, its not, tho they have similar ballistics past 100yds.
the houston PD SWAT uses the P90, and 5.7 pistols, and have several one shot stop engagements on record, the 5.7 round does some horriffic damage.
Also, its been used successfully for years by european counterterror and military.
also, having seen some pic of what the SS197 30gr ballistic tip does to small game (think cut in half).
having owned a 5.7 USG for several years, and carried one, i have no problem taking it into battle."Oderint Dum Metuant" - BMFH

I would pick the 5.7 over the .380.
