Welcome to the forum. You can expect to have a holster collection, until you find the one that works well for you.

This is great advice. Try getting a holster belt. The dress leather belts don't always work well and wear quickly. I use a Blackhawk carbon fiber, so far, so good.

Congrats and welcome as so many have already said. You will definately wind up with many holsters in your travels to find the perfect one. I, myself have about 8 so far, my journey has finally brought to two that I love. My carry gun is a S&W M&P 9compact and i use as follows. For IWB the most comfortable i've found is a Galco Stowaway, very comfortable but no retention(still looking for an iwb with good retention. For OWB I just purchased a Safariland ALS 6378, man what a great holster i find this to be. great fit, excellent retention! Keep looking and remember sometimes the journey is far more important than the destination.

If you don't have anything against kydex holsters, I'll second the comp-tac recommendation. I carry a taurus pt140 in their CTAC and usually tuck my shirt with no printing. Price is $80, totally adjustable for ride height and cant just by adjusting the 2 clips that secure it to your belt, and they make it for the PPK.

Welcome aboard friend. I have several holsters as well. You will have a drawer full before to long, unless you're lucky enough to find the one that works best for you early. I don't generally CC, but when I do I use the IWB from uncle mikes and put it in my front pants pocket, and it gets covered by my shirt, but prints like hell. But I don't worry about that and neither should you, no body hardly ever notices.

The first vehicles normally on the scene of a crime are ambulances and police cruisers. If you are armed you have a chance to decide who gets transported in which vehicle, if you are not armed then that decision is made for you.

Be prepared, because someone else already is and no one knows their intent except them.

High Noon makes really well put together stuff. Definately get a good belt to go with it.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I have a few different carry pieces so I guess I'll go through a bunch of different holsters. I have been using this Don Hume IWB holster for three days and it seems comfortable. Just one question; how do I keep my pants from falling down when I pee?

This was my first IWB holster. It was comfortable. I did notice that it moved around just a bit. But nothing really bad. If you get the Highnoon. Get one that is TUCKABLE. It will allow you to tuck your shirt down into the holster, helping in keeping your shirt down, and the pistol well hidden.

I went with the SPLIT DECISION. http://www.highnoonholsters.com/Prod..._decision.html
Click on the link, and hit the TOP view, and you can see how the clip pulls out to let you tuck your shirt in. It hid my pistol very well. It is going to be my betterhalf's holster when she gets her permit. (Which we were suppose to do today. Maybe Monday.)
