I wouldn't be so sure. The propaganda machine has convinced about 50% of the populace that we are racist, fascist loons. How much of a stretch is convincing a group of very young people that we are an existential threat to humanity, especially when they have a captive audience? You might remember that small city between Dallas and Austin where the government protected the civil rights of men, women and children so well.

I'm not worried in the least about that, just the economy and the border. This is why we are armed.

I'm not worried about it actually happening anytime soon, but if it ever does, I'm also not counting that anyone, military or not, would stand in the way of the "process".

The vast majority of service members would legally (and morally) refuse a direct order to shoot US civilians.

Most all service members have wives and kids at home who they want to go home to, (ie, they don't want to risk them).

Would shooting a domestic terrorist be against the law?

Because that's what the people they are ordered to shoot will be labeled.

I presume that service members would be required to deploy deadly force against civilians consistent with LE guidelines. For example, I assume that deadly force toward a 'Timothy McVeigh' would be handled like any other civilian threat, regardless if he was characterized as a 'domestic terrorist'.
