Default British documentary on Law and Disorder in Philly

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CBapD...eature=related

The other 5 parts are in the related videos section.

I can't believe this toolbag is wearing a vest outside of his huge jacket... and he seems really clueless. Regardless, interesting perspective from some of the cops. Makes you feel for them a bit more than you do just reading accounts of interactions here on the board.

I'm halfway through and pretty disgusted so far.

Clueless is how he does things. His specialty is to meet with odd, misunderstood, or just plain crazy people, and he is known for being very open minded and sympathetic to the people he meets. He's actually pretty smart. I'm sure he'd be glad to know that he gave you a new perspective on the cops.

I think the most interesting one he's done is Louis and the Nazis. He meets a bunch of racist dweebs, some of whom threaten to beat him up for being Jewish, but yet he makes a big effort to find the humanity in them, it is very interesting to watch.

True, I guess I see his angle. Is he the same guy that is on the Jon Stewart show/Colbert Report? Reminds me of him a bit.

That one was very good. I thought he was very fair to the people he stayed with.

Louis is the son of author Paul Theroux, probably best known for his (excellent) travelogues.

Thanks for posting this, I never saw this episode. The bullet proof vest seems like a little much - at least during the day. I'll have to watch the whole thing when I get time.

Just watched the first part so far. Pretty good. I know where that bar is where Hunter runs into a skag junkie he grew up with. Right underneath the El adjacent to Front Street in Fishtown. They serve hot food for lunch.

Kind of telling, or honest, when Hunter is talking about the neighborhood. He states that there are still some good people there, not many, but some.

Be safe (and a good person).

The host is pretty dumb. Condescendingly naive doesn't begin to describe him.

I do like how it exposes how stupid these people are though.

I thought this was going to be stupid at first, but I have to say it was very informative.

This is excellent, like "The Wire" for real and in Philly.

As much as I am not surprised how lawless it is in Philly, I get annoyed when some foreigner comes to this country to try to show how "bad" it is in the states. I'd be willing to bet some of the more seedy areas of London or some other large British cities is just as degredated and drug ridden.

I like the description "toolbag"! The host must think he's in Iraq or something with the flak jacket. Then again he's probably not too far off. I used to deliver through areas of Philthy that looked just like that. Fortunately I was passing through them and didn't have to stop.
