Opening day was a real,real,crappy one.Glad I had a cabin and wood burner rocking
I put the kids(early 20's)in the stands and I went to property line to chase tresspassers.
Saw not a single tail,but thats kool!
Getting out Wensday,not even having a fire!....Good,safe hunting
Keep a big rock or tree too u'r back if ground hunting....esp: if u'r on game lands!Lots of NIT-WITS out there!...now they are ARMED!

Got out in the afternoon Monday, saw zippo. Went out yesterday morning and saw what appeared to be a 5 or 6 point about 8:30, but it was too far away for a clear shot. Will probably go out again on Saturday.

I saw 2 deer sneaking around my place yesterday LOL, they know where to go during the season since no one is hunting on this land ( only trapping).

Now I have a customer who lives next to the Loch Raven park south of here, where they finally allowed bow hunting this year. There are still a ton of deer there though, and he shot 3 in a row the other day, he says they were walking along in a row and he just shot 1, then another, then another. He thought they were all does but his old eyes suck, they were 2 button bucks and 1 very poor genetics and feed spike. The spike had 1 antler about 3" long, the other broke off LOL. He has 20 acres and is still allowed to use a slug gun down that way. I guess they need to import some of these deer north LOL.

skunked! Kicked out 3 doe walking in. Started hearing alot of shots around 1500. Stayed in the woods until 1705, end of shooting hours, without seeing anything besides 3 squirrels and 2 chipmunks....


until I left and went down the road and saw 14 deer , atleast 2 with legal antlers, walking across the field headed to the corner patch of treeline I was sitting in 5 minutes before!!!! We need longer daylight and longer shooting times here in eastern PA.

Got my doe on Monday, the only deer I saw all morning. I'll be heading out Friday, Saturday and all next week looking for that elusive big racked deer.

The SGL's aren't bad.....you just need to get back in away from everyone.

My mother said it looked like a "deer parking lot" along our driveway this morning when she left for work. She said " eyes glowing everywhere". I guess that's where the survivors all got spooked to yesterday after some neighbors were shooting a bunch of times in the woods out back.
