I used to live in a state that didn't require background check at point of sale if you had a conceal permit.

    All states have that option.

Only the shitty fascist states don't select that option.

It still has the option. It just no longer selects that option.

Pa. exercised the LCTF bypass option for about 6 months pending the implementation of the current system.

A shame they didn't stick with it.

    Typical .gov excuses.
I have to agree with your deceased dealer. I don*t believe I am typical .gov though. I usually go with experience and not simply red tape.

Having a LTCF does not mean one is not inclined to do stupid stuff. The number of illegal shootings committed by people with a LTCF in Philadelphia has skyrocketed.

5 years is a long time in between PICS checks to rely on that one is not prohibited. Thirty day PICS clearance for purchases is more realistic to me. But like ScotsGuards said, there are privacy and other issues to be dealt with.

The people in philly now think they are allowed to use their weapons at anytime now that they have their carry license. Just my opinion.

I tend to agree with you. I know it is not mandatory, but some instruction on when lethal force can be used by someone with a firearm would keep a lot of people out of court. And I am not talking about street criminals, but otherwise law abiding people getting jammed up because they used a firearm.

I believe there was another incident just outside Philly, in Montco where a neighbor dispute turned deadly after a legal LTCF holder shot a neighbor who he had called 911 on and said he was harassing him. I don*t know the whole story, but the guy was arrested for murder.

And the first rule should be: do not use your vehicle to safely store your firearm.

    QUESTION:
Why would any reasonable person NOT want some instruction/training/education on the legal use of lethal force, if they're the type of person to carry a gun around?

It's like buying a car with no idea how to drive it.

The answer you are going to get from people is that driving is a privilege and owning a gun is a right.

For the record, I agree with you. Again. I am getting concerned. LOL.
