Lead, high sodium found in Lunchables meals given as school lunches, new report finds
Consumer Reports says it found relatively high levels of lead and sodium in Lunchables.

WASHINGTON — Testing released by the nonprofit Consumer Reports has found elevated amounts of sodium, as well as relatively high levels of lead and cadmium, in Lunchables meal kits. The advocacy group is now urging the USDA to drop Lunchables from the National School Lunch Program, which feeds millions of students in the U.S.

Anyone who can read the label would know the "claimed" sodium content is probably already off the charts.

If you're feeding that to your kid in the first place, I doubt you really care about lead or salt content anyway - aside from how much money it could get you in a lawsuit.

"The three Lunchables kits tested the highest; all of them had at least 69% of California's maximum allowable dose level for lead, according to Consumer Reports. "

Apparently lead content is more common than I thought, at least in "low" percentages, which aren't defined.

Everyone knows lunch meats and cheeses have a lot of salt in them so what is the problem........But Luchables should sue the hell out of Consumer reports for their slanderous reporting of the Lead and cadmium levels. Scientists can detect an unbelievably small amounts of lead but just because they can detect something doesn't mean it is harmful. You have to love the part where they intentionally mislead everyone by saying the lead level is 69% of the states strict made up cutoff. That means the levels were UNDER California's food limit.

The group says testing of 12 commercially available lunch packages, including several Lunchables products, found both lead and cadmium (a similar toxic metal) in the items. The three Lunchables kits tested the highest; all of them had at least 69% of California's maximum allowable dose level for lead, according to Consumer Reports.

While California has the lowest allowable lead threshold of any U.S. state, there are few federal guidelines limiting the amount of lead that can be in food.

That's what I'm wondering, are they taking the sodium listed in the nutritional facts and acting likes its a big secret?

Look at all cold cuts too the store brands are better than boars head. If you read the info boars head has the highest salt content of them all. Plus you pay extra for the *quality*
