You're not allowed to prevent being torn to shreds to shoot, you have to be torn up first, then shoot.

It's not loose if it's on your property.

People that terrified of smallish dogs should probably seek work other than going to people's homes. This was like ATF raiding a home and shooting the dogs, just because they know they'll get away with it.

Some people want to kill, we've seen videos of cops killing dogs who were wagging their tails and roaming around; like the time they stopped the wrong car, opened the doors, proned the family, let the dog out, ignored the father who was begging to secure the family dog, and shot the dog for no reason that was obvious in the video.

Shooting dogs is like kiddie porn for pedos. They'd LIKE to kill people, but they'll kill dogs for a taste of their kink.

This wasn't a vicious dog being trained for dogfighting. The shooter should telecommute & do customer service or something from inside his bubble.

It's the dog owners responsibility to control their dog. If it attacks or bites someone it's the dog owners fault for not controlling their dog. If you order food and that person that comes to deliver it is attacked by your dog you are at fault for not controlling your dog. When you know strangers will be coming to your property you take control of the dogs and make sure there they can't harm or be harmed by a stranger. The woman is 100% at fault for her dog being shot. If you own a dog you understand and if you don't you are setting yourself up for heartbreaks or lawsuits.

Are we just assuming that the dog attacked the guy or is there some evidence that it happened that way?

If your job is to go to strangers' homes, you need to expect that some of them will have noisy kids, curious dogs, uneven steps, music you dislike, no house numbers, bad smells, language issues, whatever.

The story doesn't even claim that the dog jumped on him or bit him. The dog approached a stranger in his territory.

If some delivery guy pulled a gun on my property, it might end badly for him as I protected my family. A man with a gun in his hand in my yard is FAR more of a threat than a dog in his own yard.

I think Judge Judy would differ with you on that. If you invite someone onto your property and they get bitten, it's your fault. Uninvited might well be a different story.

Don't know if the driver was bitten but the dog was on his way to church choir practice when he was shot and the actress who owns the dog could be heard afterwards "not my baby, he would never bite anyone".

Exactly. Nobody knows what actually happened, but 100% certain the guy with the gun did nothing wrong.
