    Other than PAFOA, I'm not on social media at all. I enjoy the forum, find it entertaining and also learn a great deal... it's why I contribute $.

    The one negative about the forum is the constant 504 Gateway Timeout Errors... they're beyond annoying.

    Gun forums are likely going to die out, because "the kids" don't use them. I'm probably one of the youngest people here and I'm nearing 40.

    I guess I'm the odd man out. I have a dozen that I visit and participate in on a regular basis. Each one is a unique community offering information on a particular subset of the firearms universe.

    As somebody said earlier "This is a firearms forum?"

    Even though platforms like reddit, discord, facebook, Instagram, etc can restrict firearms content or sales, they are where the younger gun owners gravitate, and there are a lot of them. I am somewhere between young and old. I grew up with forums and like the format. I am also active on the other platforms with the younger gun owners. Forums are supreme for marketplaces and for documenting reference information. The worst part about the other platforms is the complete disregard for cataloging and searching existing information. It's all about what photo is hot this very second. Good luck finding something you saw a week ago.

    PAFOA isn't as active with gun stuff as other forums I use, but I still like this forum (obviously, here I am).

    My go to forums for gun stuff (some technical, some buying and selling) are Weapons Guild, 1919A4 Forum, Sturmgewehr, FAL Files, and IAA (cartridge collecting). I try to look at arfcom and Gunboards when I can but thy aren't my daily stops.

    I frequent G503 and Steel Soldiers for military vehicle tech.

    I go to ACMOC (antique caterpillars) and the heavy equipment forum for my vintage heavy equipment hobby.

    I got you beat by nearly 6 years for youngest here…

    The “kids” don’t use forums because they are too soft to deal with curmudgeons answering their stupid questions.

    PAFOA=Pointless Arguments For Opinionated Assholes

    To throw my pointless opinion in, I frequent many forums that have many different levels of expectations for what I can get out of them. Just to rattle off a few Sig Talk, SASS Wire, 1911forum, and Sniper’s Hide. I’m mostly looking at classifieds or for information for things I own or I am considering buying. I go through phases of activity on each.

    Is anyone else gonna face up to frequenting the akfiles?

    I call it the Wild, Wild West of the internet.

    It's bigoted and anti-semitic but, chock full of firearms knowledge and humor.
