    Default youtube autostart on PAFOA

A couple weeks ago whenever I opened a forum page with a youtube video embedded in a post the video auto plays it doesn't matter if I've already seen it or not it just starts and plays. If there's more than one in that thread they all start to play. I don't recall it being like that in the past. I have searched this forum, youtube and Google Chrome and cannot for the life of me find a way to turn autostart off. I so remember seeing a way to do that in the past but my mind just isn't getting it up front. It's only doing this on this website. Anyone out there know how to uncloud my mind on this, it's incredibly annoying.

Doesn't do it for me either. In firefox you can click on the lock symbol in the search bar and go to page information then permissions. You can turn off autoplay and other permissions. Not sure where you do this in other browsers but look up how to set permissions for a website.

Doesn't happen on my laptop, using Firefox 123.0 (64-bit).
I rarely use my Android devices on forums so I really can't
say what happens there, if it matters.

I thought I saw a setting for Auto-Play a while back and turned
it off, but now I can't find it anywhere. Weird.
While many claim to support the right, precious few support the practice.

Thanks all. Knight0334 I have tried the settings I'll try some of the extension add ons. What's really odd is it just started doing it a week or two ago.

I tried the autostopper, didn't work. The only thing I can do is use the sound off in Google's settings but then I do surf places I want music to play that won't. Guess I'll just have to either scroll the page and turn off the videos, which is a pain because I have the forum set to show me 40 posts at a time and every post with a youtube attached starts playing at the same time, or turn my PC sound off when coming to PAFOA.

    Thanks again.

Sorry. I don't know what else to suggest. I only use Chrome for (1) work website, on the company computer.

I'll keep looking around though for other ideas for you.

Could you also check the list of all other extensions which you have currently installed, just in case one of them is triggering this odd auto start behavior?

Oh no, I used "triggered" in the progressive way. Losing my edge here. 😟
