Default Glock 19 Gen 2 Mags in Glock 19, Gen 5

I have a friend who has 2 never used Glock 19 Generation 2 Mags (15 round).

I have been thinking about getting a Glock 19, Generation 5 - Glock's newest. I did an internet search about magazine compatibility, and there were scads of posts stating Gen 5 mags would work perfectly in a Gen 2, but I could not find any info on the reverse (the Gen 2 Mag working in the Gen 5.)

If anyone knows about using the Gen 3 in the Gen 5, I would appreciate it.

    Thanks

I've used Gen 2, Gen 3, Gen 4, and Gen 5 mags in my Gen 5 G19s without issue.

If the gen-2 mags are pre-1994 AWB they're worth a premium on gunbroker.

They will work, but only for right hand shooters. If the Gen 5 mag release is configured for a left handed (right side if the gun) shooter, it*s no bueno. And, as stated, those magazines, new, are worth more.
