Our newChief of Naval Operations (CNO) stated, upon her appointment;

“ We will view everything we do through a warfighting lens to ensure our Navy remains the world’s preeminent fighting force. “

Then this drops today….

“ The Navy announced a sweeping range of uniform and personal appearance policy updates on Wednesday – including reinstating the female bucket cover and allowing sailors to place their hands in their pockets.

Sailors may also wear false eyelashes or eyelash extensions in uniform – provided they are no more than “14 millimeters in length as measured from the eyelid to the tip of the eyelash. “

Seeing where it is not April 1st, that new CNO is apparently full of shit.

Who is a USN veteran and never saw this happening in their lifetime? Either a female CNO or a rule for false eyelashes. When I was in, it was groundbreaking when Zumwalt allowed sideburns.

I was around for Zumwalt too. It got bad. My first assignment out of schools was USS Barbero (SSG-317) an old WWII boat. The XO was LCDR JD Watkins. He later became CNO during Regan's administration and was instrumental in cleaning it up. Now it's gone to shit again.

give it some time and your be able to probably wear more then that. the Navy missed its recruiting goals last year but still raised them for this year.

Oh, cool. Like Todd Hoffman on Gold Rush. Since we didn't get 500 ounces last year, we'll set the goal at 1000 for this years.
