stitches

I had to have a cysts removed. It is right where I put the shotgun for trap. There are 3 stitches in that spot.
How long do I need to wait before i can shoot trap. I will see my Dr of Thursday and will ask him then.
I am looking for real life experiences. 3 internal and 3 external stitches.

Stitches can normally be removed after 10 days. The internal ones dissolve on their own, that time probably varies. You can remove external stitches on your own, if the area is clear of infection, and the stitches can move in the skin, you can just cut the loop and carefully pull them out. Last time I did it, I used a leatherman.

It's going to depend on whether you want the incision to heal properly or not.

If you're over 50, skin just doesn't heal like it used to. Stitches typically remain in for 10 days, in order to hold itself together without the stitches. But, that is generally without receiving stressful forces against it. I'd give it at least 2-3 weeks. Even then, it may still sting.
