As the title says. I'm looking for a Public spot for Spring Turkey in McKean County. Any ideas are welcome.

Get out now annd scout. Look for areas that have South/Southeast facing slopes with evergreens for roosting along with oak, beech, hickory and other hard mast producing trees. A bonus is Southern facing slopes with grassy, open areas that produces insects and has drinkable water. Forested areas that abutt corn, bean and grain fields are also prime areas for turkeys. Just like the rut in the Fall, where the females are, the males will eventually show up. The more remote the better. Good luck.

I have seen and heard quite a bit of birds this year on the Elk State Forest property near Clermont. It gets hunted pretty hard though. Be careful of what you are hearing and don't try and stalk any "birds".

Many of the gates are closed right now, but there isn't much snow as you know. A mountain bike ride or a long walk might be in order. Check the pines on Mad Elf Road

I've hunted in the ANF off of Route 6 between Kane and Ludlow. Lots of gas and oil wells, couple gas line right of ways. I'm a sucker for a gas line, a few decoys, and a crow call to get them gobblin... I just walk and call until a bird answers, then I'll set up the decoys between him and I and hide as good as I can and call lol
