Thumbs down Re: New from Smith & Wesson

    Very innovative.
Since they couldn't copy KelTec, they come up with a Ruglin/Henry hybrid.

ETA: I wonder if they copied Henry's sucky LoP.

That's not really a "removable magazine" the way I think of a magazine - it's just an easy way to dump rounds.
And if that's all it is, that's fine - I still think it's a cool feature.
It is just like most tube mag .22's. You can remove the follower to dump the mag. Which is following Henry's lead on things.

Yeah, It does. The S&W is very much like a Henry Big Boy X.

Looks like you could save a few $ just buying the Henry.

The only real differences I see is that the S&W has a longer extractor and ejection port, and a cross-bolt safety, aside from the superficial stuff.

I'm surprised he's not stiff arming it with his hand against the front sight.

I wonder if they'll offer a clamp on hand stop.

7:27 he shows how the mag/tube is removed

11:22 he shows how the mag/tube is removed AND dumping the live rounds out. (although the tube sort of "sproings" away from him. Ha)

Guess copy cat is the name of the game these days, wish companies would innovate instead of playing follow the leader. A modernized model 3 would have been more interesting

. . . and both are copies of the Marlin. As are a Mossberg from ~10 yrs ago, and a newish Rossi.

I haven't shot my Marlin 1894 in a while, and it's been longer since I've unloaded it without firing all the rounds, but I swear this is how I unloaded mine.
