i figured that hack out about 10 years ago.

I notice he is banging on metal.
I killed 2 bullet pullers that way.

I grabbed a piece of 4X4 oak about 2 feet long as my anvil. I sit down with it between my knees and bang on the end.

Works great for allowing the plastic tool to do its job without getting fractured.

toss a foam earplug in the bullet puller so when the case lets go, the bullet doesn't impact the plastic directly.

I don't have the earplugs so I use a piece of paper towel.

I squandered about 70 bucks on the RCBS puller and 4 collets to clean up a box of bad rounds I'd made including a bunch of ,223 with a partial roll crimp that I couldn't bang out. I'm finished hammering.

Be aware that there have been reports of detonation when using a shellholder rather than the supplied collet.
