Default Best Areas for Late Season Deer

I was wondering if anyone knows some good areas to try for Flintlock. I hunt several of the parks and game lands in SEPA. I find that most of the deer are pushed off and living in people's back yards after the early muzzleloader season. I assume this is generally true for most areas, but was interested in hearing about other areas to try in central or NE PA.

Also, has anyone been to Welsh Mountain Nature Preserve? I was wondering what that's like for deer and small game. I might go check it out since I've never been there and it's not too far from me.

No areas specifically to direct you towards but my recommendation would be to seek out some public land that may have been clear cut or heavily select cut recently (within the last 2 years). I have found these areas provides good consistent food sources for deer in the late season.

    Food. what are they eating?

Look for cut areas and the edges along houses abutting the state forest.

Thanks for the suggestions. I went to a new local place that had some thick cover and some houses around the edges. Didn't see much fresh sign.

The Game Commission has a map of deer focus areas (basically recent cutting).

I think I have to get into some bigger areas farther away from SEPA. Maybe I'll try some of the game lands around Fort Indiantown Gap.
