Old precision Marlin rim fire bolt action is supposed to eject spent brass right?

Picked up this old Marlin 2000 precision bolt .22 and had fun cleaning it up, putting some glass on, and a cheap bipod. Went to take it out last weekend and it was dead nuts accurate. Only problem is the spent casing would not reject. Brass extracts and pulls back withe bolt face but it doesn't get thrown from the chamber. I didn't know if this was a precision gun thing or I have some more investigating to do.

Looking at this schematic diagram, it shows an extractor no ejector listed. easy to see, when the bolt is being fully retracted a pin or post should protrude through the edge of the bolt thus ejecting the spent casing from engagement with the bolt face. it may be a "target' or "precision" thing to manually remove the spent case from the loading /ejection port?
Being magazine fed and not a single shot, I'd doubt that is the case and you probably have a broken ejector. It will more than likely be attached to the left side of the receiver directly across from the bolts extractor and may be an integral part of the receiver explaining why it is not listed in the parts breakdown.

Piece #26 is the magazine latch and ejector... Check to see if it is broken 0r maybe just needs to be adjusted?
