Re: Gun powder shortage?
It is a small matter to put enough primers on the shelf to cover self defense situations for a lifetime. There is a problem for those that like to shoot. Recreation and even dedicated training would have to be sharply curtailed.

Re: Gun powder shortage?
Looks like powder is getting a price increase this year and you will probably see pounds of powder going for $45-$60.

That's insane. I was weighing it out, reload or buy. I think its cheaper to buy ammo then reload, or damn close to it.
A lb of powder does 100 308 I think. And they are a buck a round now or more.FJB

Re: Gun powder shortage?
Ultimately there will still be sales and deals. Buying in bulk is always a win.
Personally I overestimated how much I shoot 7.62 Nato, 308win. I still have 90% of the thousands of rounds I bought 8 years ago, not including all the reloading I did. I find since I only shoot out to 100, it's like using a howitzer in a bath tub, so I prefer 300 Blackout and consume that regularly.

Re: Gun powder shortage?
For the normal everyday stuff it can be more expensive to load unless you bought up a ton of stuff at good prices. I got into reloading for 458 socom and 375 ruger. Neither is common at store and both can be expensive.
The other concern is going to be getting primers as some reloading suppliers are warning people to bulk up now cause of prices and supplies are expected to get harder to get.
