Face it, some people are simply too irresponsible with firearms. I'd bet most of the children who were shot, or shot themselves had access to a firearm that was already ILLEGALLY possessed by a person already prohibited, and most likely STOLEN. We hear the stories, but we never hear of a prosecution/verdict/sentence, but hear the cry for MORE LAWS which will also be ignored.

The Kellerman "study" included drug dealers and violent criminals in the category "gun owner".

I think a trade of Philadelphia for Warren and Sussex counties in New Jersey would give the Republicans a multi seat majority in the House, and that's not just by losing the Philadelphia reps.

Trouble I have is that "Republican" does not translate to "pro-gun".

Thanks, that would be nice. Personally I wish the rest of Pennsylvania wasn*t dragged around by the population centers. Coming from New York I always worry of that situation playing out here.

I feel bad that the "political leadership" of said population centers blames private ownership for their problems.

If all guns vanished today there would still be violence in those towns, because of economic problems stemming from crummy City Government and a "culture" driven by the War on Drugs.
