I really try to look at these events as a "day out"...more like entertainment. If it goes to $20, it'll be less of a value and I'd likely attend fewer shows. Hey, I get it...these things cost plenty to host and they have to carry their own weight.
As a former car show participant, I stopped doing shows as it's just not an enjoyable as it once was. I'd rather drive my cars than sit behind them in lawn chair. Entry fees of $20 - $25 are becoming the norm...and I simply cannot justify it. My club does two shows a year and finally, due to the incredible cost of trophies had to raise our fee to $20. But - we have door prizes, dash plaques, good "goodie bags" and free lunch for all participants.
Back on topic. As mentioned above, I see a show as a day's entertainment. I can better justify $15 at Oaks over $10 for the 150 tables at Trevose.
