The biggest reason that idling is bad for an engine is that it slews the MPG. Diesel trucks are the biggest offender of excessive idle times. We constantly had drivers come into the dealship service depatment complaining about bad fuel mileage, when we pulled up the idle time stored in the computer and showed them the amount of idle time that they logged it was pretty easy to explain why their MPG's were down.
We the people love our country so let the government fear us.

God wouldn*t have made meat taste so good if we weren*t meant to eat meat.
Remote starting would not have been invented if we weren*t meant to start the car to warm it up before getting in.
That*s my story and I am sticking to it.
