Re: Can you buy a handgun with an expired medical maryjuana card?
There's a 1-year lookback period on use of illegal drugs, absent prohibiting convictions. I don't know if the PICS system (or the Feds) have access to cross-check for weed cards, but it's govt so they will, eventually. Safest long-term plan (legally) is to make sure the card is dead, and wait a year after that. Of course being defenseless while you wait is also a factor.
It's silly to have this level of dissonance between states and feds. Don't tell people "we legalized weed" when you didn't, and can't.Attorney Phil Kline, AKA gunlawyer001@gmail.com

I doubt the expired card has any monetary value, he'll need actual money.

Re: Can you buy a handgun with an expired medical maryjuana card?
So let me try and follow this...guy has been using for over 5 years and wants to buy a handgun now that he's no longer using the "legal" MJ, I assume this cause it's not stated he quit.
So question 21f is the stopper
Are you an unlawful user of, or addicted to, marijuana or any depressant, stimulant, narcotic drug, or any other controlled substance?
Warning: The use or possession of marijuana remains unlawful under Federal law regardless of whether it has been legalized or decriminalized
for medicinal or recreational purposes in the state where you reside.
Short answer- NO.
But as GL stated they need to get the state and Fed laws on the same page. I don't see it going back on the bad lists locally so the feds need to embrace the suck.Owner Trigger Time LLc 01 FFL/NFA Saylorsburg, PA. Sales/Service/Transfers/Training

I'm pretty sure the fact that he got a medical marijuana card at 15 means his parents have failed him. Although in the 80's and 90's pretty much every 15 year old had smoked marijuana. We had to work for it though. Sneak around. Run the risk.

Re: Can you buy a handgun with an expired medical maryjuana card?
A neighbor kid, about 13 or 14 at the time, had a Crohn's-like disease. Doctors gave him a medical Marijuana card for the intense pain he was experiencing. I remember they needed to get firearms out of the house. Not sure on what authority but asked me if I wanted to buy any. In this case his body failed him, not the parents.
