It's absolutely fascinating to speak with people from other countries who have no idea what Obama is about, except for the fact that he seems to be a left-of-center Socialist, which is often the case throughout most of Europe. For those of you who can follow along, or don't mind babelfishing it, check out this series of exchanges with members of a shooting forum based in Spain. They've been more than a bit surprised by what they've learned recently. Up until now, they had no idea.

personally, i don't give a shit what any foreigner thinks about our politics. if i cared, i'd move there. they all think we're a bunch of uncivilized yahoos, anyway; at least, that's the impression i got when i was in Europe. fuck 'em.

it's not throwing stones if you don't give a shit in the first place. you think i care about the political climate over there? i could give a root tootin' yankee doodle about their politicians, or anything else, for that matter.

the problem is when Americans pay too much attention to them; many think it's fashionable, or classier, to adopt Eurocentric attitudes about things. this includes views on the 2A, or the Constitution as a whole. i can tell you, from personal experience, that many Brits still look at us as some breakaway colony of theirs, and they don't understand where we went wrong. that, or they think that we're a degenerate version of them.

so again, i say fuck what they think. it's enough that i know what goes on in another state, like Alaska. the rest of the world can get bent.
