Did the fish croak? Looks a lot like an Atlantic Croaker.

The only difference is in this pic the fish looks mad. But the fish you caught looks stupid.

I don't know of a fish that looks like Shrek but a pail of chum probably would.

It's an Atlantic Croaker, a type of Drum.

No idea. :-) That's what they called them since I was a kid, and they still do. They actually put up a pretty good fight. Maybe it's a Great Lakes thing:

This is the saltwater Sheepshead we had in Louisiana. They get big (bigger than the one in this pic), fight a lot and are very tasty. They eat barnacles and crustaceans so their front teeth are huge. About the same size as kids front teeth.

Them's some front teeth right there! I saw fishermen pulling them up off the docks around Tampa and always wondered if they were good eating.

They are good eating! We used to catch them at Ballast Point, Picnic Island, and on the Tampa side of Gandy Bridge(southside, where there is a port).

I appreciate all the comments and information. The last post was especially informative, next time I hook one of these I definitely won't release it as I usually do. I have let me fishing buddies know as well. Thanks!!
