    You didn't specify what typed of rifle you had in mind.

    I mentioned Boonie Packer/Redi-Mag earlier, but here's a link to check out the various methods of sling attachments - some of which require no mounting hardware - and they are inexpensive - with free shipping - and made in USA.

    Another option is to use paracord and that is how I have my IDF sling attached. While probably not a problem for civilian use you should try and avoid having any nylon touching the barrel since it can melt.
