What about ultra-cheap no-drill/slip-over types? I need to have a few on tap for folks at events who don*t have slings on rifles when they need one* (and don*t like my paracord + duct tape system).

You didn't specify what typed of rifle you had in mind.

Another option is to use paracord and that is how I have my IDF sling attached. While probably not a problem for civilian use you should try and avoid having any nylon touching the barrel since it can melt.
