That*s ironic, I was just noticing, there appeared to be silencers on some of the police rifles I saw in the footage of the cops chasing that escaped Brazilian convict. Is that what they are and how long have our cops been using them?

    (1) Vortex may be US 'based' as a company but aren't they made in China? Legitimate question.

    (2) I suspect the use of the term "assault rifle" here is deliberate. Think about it.
Strange women lying in ponds, distributing swords, is no basis for a system of government.

So an M4 with a suppressor, topped with an LPVO and red dot combo for over $11,000 a copy? God save the King!

Well since the piece is of a type that meets the requirements of the definition of an assault rifle...detachable magazine fed, select semi-automatic or burst or full automatic fire. It fits very well.

If you could hold up the taxpayers to put silencers on your rifles, why wouldn’t you?

Their special operations units have been using various ARs for decades now.

Yeah, they don't want that problematic bullpup that the regular grunts are forced to use.

Its because the military keeps shortening the carbine barrels (and lessening performance) to the point where there is instant hearing damage from the blast if you are not wearing earplugs. Ironically with the added "muzzle signature reduction system" the OAL is likely the same as the original 20 inch barrels. Just go back to the original 20 inch barrel and be happy with the noise reduction, gained velocity, and increased muzzle energy.

This can be done for a lot less than 11k a rifle. An even better option for them is to reintroduce the FN FAL. It would be refreshing to see an army shoot a rifle that has some balls again.

Correct. The SAS and SBS have never used the SA80 piece of crap. They have always used AR-15s and AR-10s of various manufacture.
