🤔Are 'Mowbots' the future of landscaping?
😲 C'mon man stop trying to take away @Emptymag bread and butter
A man from Danville is using robots for lawn care.
DANVILLE, Pa. — Lawnmowing can either be a relaxing or an annoying task.
David Decoteau of Danville knows that all too well. He had a landscaping company for more than 40 years until four years ago when he got a robotic lawnmower.
Decoteau read about people using "mowbots" in Sweden.
"I lived with that for a year to see if I liked it. Then after proof of concept, I was like, 'I can do this.' Then we started doing it in earnest about three years ago," Decoteau said.

They had these at a client site I went to in Italy last week. I think they were programmed by a person with ADHD because they were mowing the same section everyday and not in any particular pattern.

Re: 🤔Are 'Mowbots' the future of landscaping?
This is going to be the issue. How to get them to just cut the grass and not ride thru your garden or round mulch piles. And how they deal with that big rock, baseball or cat in the middle of the yard. And how close can they cut to the curb without falling off and self destroying. And what happens if one gets away and terrorizes the neighborhood. And alarm or not someone will steal them.
But when they get these bugs worked out sign me up.

I see a couple of them down by Hershey. I dont get it. But then again, I have vertical acreage that kills lesser mowers.
I dont get Roombas either for that matter

Ha. I'm sure they have improved over the years, but I saw a robotic mower being deployed at a home across from one of my clients about 12 years ago.
He had to stand there watching it because it would get stuck every couple of minutes.
A few weeks later I saw him pushing his mower again.
Those are ideal for - the ideal situation, but perfect, flat lawns are few and far between.I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!
