New to Pittsburgh
I just moved back to Pittsburgh after six years in the DC metro area. If anyone finds themselves down that way, I'd highly recommend a field trip to the Prince George's County Shooting Center (Trap & Skeet).
That said, where can I find an outdoor pistol range and/or trap shooting near to Pittsburgh? I'm in the East End, I know I'll have to drive out of the city, and am trying to not spend an hour in the car each way. Suggestions?
Heck, while I'm at it, any suggestions on local IPSC/IDPA shoots?

Re: New to Pittsburgh
I recommend checking out Pitcarin Monroeville Sportsmen's Club -- membership required, but it seems to be a very friendly place to shoot. I'm thinking of joining myself.
There is usually a monthly PAFOA group shoot in the Pittsburgh area (I keep saying to myself that I'm going to go to the next one, but I just haven't had much free time lately) -- looks like the next one will be at PMSC:

Welcome back, by the way!

Re: New to Pittsburgh
yeah, PMSC has everything you are looking for and more.
it isn't a far drive from the east end at all.
and a bunch of us PAFOAers are members there.
the next meeting is wed, dec 10 at 7pm. if you would like to join, you can just show up at the meeting with the membership fee ($60, i think, but not exactly sure).
for more, see:
www.pmsconline.com
(but don't pay attention to the needing a sponsor to join thing if that is still anywhere on the site or membership app...that is no longer enforced.)

Re: New to Pittsburgh
Yep. $40 initiation fee, and $60 dues = $100 first year.
Now is the best time to join, because it doesn't go by the day/month you join, annual memberships are from Jan 1 to Dec 32.
Meetings not mandatory.
Come on out to the group shoot as well!
Welcome, and hope to see you on the range.I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!

Re: New to Pittsburgh
That's a whole lotta positive response for PMSC. I'll check it out before the end of the year, hopefully make it to the December meeting. Thanks, all.
