Default Norma 9mm brass cases not readily reloadable

Just a FYI. Purchased Norma 9mm 124gr Training and Range ammunition in 2022.

The cartridge cases have two issues for re-loaders, which make the cartridge cases undesirable for reloading:

    1. the primers are crimped. This is easily dealt with but time consuming and IMHO, not worth it.

    2. The larger issue is that the primer hole is VERY undersized. Way way too small for a standard de-priming pin.

Pictures show the ammunition box, and the actual brass compared to FC cartridge case that I had available. FC on Left, Norma on right.

I’ve got a ton of small flash hole Norma in my trash brass bin but no crimped. It irritates me because it’s nice brass

Its already a PITA to sort thru range pickup 9mm. Some have an internal ledge that stops a bullet from being seated too deep and there is often a 380 or 9mm Mak mixed in. Now this.

All the above is irritating but it bugs me more to have 45 ACP with totally different primer sizes. I get why they did it because of availability issues but it bugs me to have to sort it.

When I break de-priming pins, I replace them with drill bits. Could you use a smaller drill bit to de-prime those?

Probably so. Evidently the lee pins work but I’ve got a pile of the Dillon ones and not about to buy more when it comes out in the sort. I’ve got a case sorter machine so it’s not bad.

Universal deprime die...smash through small flash holes no problem.
