More power to the people who can do it...I just found it boring as fuck. I definitely wouldn't want to put out any money for it.
It*s not for everyone. I just gave up fishing this year, sold my boat, to much going on right now and no time to go. I will be back at it soon enough, get me another boat and enjoy the time on the water. I still hunt so that will have to do. I don*t worry about money, that*s what work provides.
    Today was a good day!

I've only ever gotten rid of 2 guns. A stainless model 60 snubnose .357. Too much fireball. Traded for a Model 637 airweight .38. Left that with the ex-wife.

I've since replace the model 637 with a new one. It has the stupid clinton hole from that stupid clinton hole.

Sentimental keep would be my first one, Stainless Ruger Vaquero in .357.

I'd like to have a boat, but I don't see much point in it since I wouldn't be fishing from it.

Would have to be my first centerfire. 6" stainless Ruger Security Six in .357 mag, bought new in 1978. Learned to shoot pistol with that gun, and started to reload because of it.
For those who've never fought for it, the price of freedom shall never be known.

My S&W 4" model 64 that was my first duty gun from the 80's. Bought it for $140 when we changed to semi autos.

Ive got my stepfathers duty and off duty issued guns. He was a retired police officer (shift commander, retired in 1985). He carried a S&W 357 while in uniform, and a S&W 38 j-frame while off duty or in civilian clothes. When he retired his department let him keep both guns, after him and then my mother died, I got both guns.
I will sometimes still carry the jframe, and the 357 is one of our nightstand guns.
As far as I know, both guns were owned and originally purchased by his department, I can imagine things could get interesting if their numbers were ever run for some reason.

Yeah, I don't understand how police depts can get away with giving away public property like that. Seems like it is, or should be, 100% illegal.

After being on the hip of a cop for a 20+ yr career, it's probably a write-off.
