Just got a Traeger and I slow smoked a tri tip- was sooo good and can*t wait to grill more on it

Every cook is a different experience. Not all are good and not all are bad but there will be some of both. If you don't already have one, I recommend a good thermometer. I have a fireboard and something called The Meater (I think) seem to be popular. My controller temps are off by 20 degrees or more and I use my fireboard to set temps.
