Talk me into (or out of) a NAA Mini Revolver
So I recently got the bright idea to get an NAA mini in .22 Mag. I'd like it for a BUG and deep carry in certain places. What's the general consensus on them? Good or bad experiences?
I had some questions if anyone has one:
- Is the longer barrel worth it? Is that extra inch going to give you much more velocity? If so, is it any harder to conceal?
- Are the upgraded models worth it? I like the look of the Wasp variant but the porting on the already short barrel gives me pause. If you're in close with someone I would think you would want all the gases being directed towards your target and not out the side where (your) hands might be in the heat of the moment.
- Think the PUG model with the tritium front sight would be worth it?
- Any suggestions on holsters and/or carry methods? Pocket carry is out, but a nice ankle or small IWB holster I think would work great.
The previous posts I dug out of a search showed pretty favorable reviews, but I was curious what the current brain trust has to say about them in #currentyear.F*#K THE ATF

Had 22lr only version, too small to shoot, nothing to hold on to. Loaded 5 rounds, shot twice and said that's enough of that. Did not feel safe shooting it

They're pretty terrible to shoot.

We have had one for years and like it for deep concealment. Find someone who has one and will let you shoot it. The .22 Mag. has quite muzzle flash but almost no recoil. Is it the ideal carry gun no but it beats a knife or sharp stick. We practice at 10 yds. and it is A zone accurate.

I can*t think of a more worthless gun. Get a decent folding knife and practice deploying it.

I have one and have carried it. I recommend a small .380 instead. If you go with it, though, I'd recommend maximizing concealability. That's its niche. Go LR or short, short barrel, small grip. It will go where no other gun will go, then. Consider the tilt out cylinder model. If you were thinking to get the folding grips, get a Switch Gun instead.

I've had one for years. Get the model with the folding holster grip as they are far easier to shoot. Just be aware that they take a good bit of practice with to shoot accurately.

Re: Talk me into (or out of) a NAA Mini Revolver
I have one in .22 mag. Was going to get the Pug, but found a Standard model for $75 used many years ago. Glad I didn't spring for the Pug. The gun is useless for anything that requires aiming, so the tritium sight on the Pug makes zero sense. It's meant for bad breath distances. I did install a set of Revision CV grips (plastic ones, not the expensive G10 ones), but they're more for range use than pocket carrying. The rare times I do carry the NAA, it's usually a backup to my backup.
I like the Ranger II, but it's too expensive for what it is. I've got some old H&R breaktop revolvers that are just as pocketable and more effective.

Ruger LCP or Kel Tec P3AT are as small as I would want to go.
Pretty cool comparison website.
