Harrisburg Rally Afterparty - June 12, 2023

Reviving this thread for another year!! you guys know the drill, but for those new members who are planning on coming to Harrisburg for the rally...

What: Cookout and social gathering
Who: All PAFOA folks and their associated friends coming to Harrisburg for the 2A rally on the 12th
When: Monday, June 12th, 12 PM (ish) to whenever
Where: 25-30 minutes south of the Capitol: (directions to be PM'ed)
Why: Why not? You guys take a day off and show up, it's the least I can do!

I'll fire up the grills and provide all the hamburgers and hot dogs and associated condiments you guys & gals can eat (and I've seen some of you eat). All I ask of each participant is that you bring some kind of side food item: chips & dip, pasta / potato / green salads, casseroles, cookies / brownies / muffins, drinks, whatever. There's always such a variety anything is acceptable, even bacon donuts.

We've got plenty of power, crock pots, coolers, tables, chairs, etc. as needed. Hang out, catch up with friends, visit the horses, meet the new dog, or just relax for an hour, grab a bite and hit the road. There's plenty of parking and plenty of space inside and out to entertain.

For planning purposes, I'm just 20 minutes south of the PA turnpike at Harrisburg west (I-83), and here's about how long it takes me to get to various parts of the Commonwealth:

Pittsburgh 3:20
Johnstown 2:40
York: 20 minutes
Lancaster: 44 minutes
Kennett Square: 1:40
KoP 1:35
New Hope 2:25
Allentown: 1:45
Wilkes Barre: 2:10
State College: 2 hours

If you can make it, please post below to help me keep a rough count. If you need directions PM me or ask below, and I'll PM / email the info, cell number, etc. I'm just trying not to leave to much information on the internet for all eternity. The FBI already knows too much!

Family and I were talking and we think we can have the trailer ready for a trial run by monday. We won't able to do wings, but we can do sausages and fry pies. We have a lot of work to do tomorrow and errands to run monday morning, but everyone is onboard with getting things done. Our fryer is still running around the western states after having spent 3 days with the natives. We'll have the griddle, steam table and broiler going through. Probably won't need to use the steam table though. No fridge, but we have monster sized marine coolers to keep everything cold.

We're not coming to the rally, but we'll be at Jhaydeno's early to get setup.

Just now got to a computer. With the forecasted rain we chose not to come because we still don't have a cover for the skylight. Not one we can drive with. So sorry we couldn't make it. But I did get out and have some custom gas hoses made to hook up the heater, broiler and steam table. Also got the large hose needed for the griddle. My fryer was sitting here by the time we got home, but I returned it an hour later. It had damage that made it unsafe to use. Now we need to find another fryer.
