Prove me wrong bet $100.00 on the line
So tonight, at my gun club meeting, one of the members says that you may not carry a gun into a bar in Pa. . (Because bars serve alcohol) I asked him who said this. He said the Berks County Sherrif. I told him to show this to me in the crimes code because it does not exist. I then told him if he could show me this law, I would pay him $100.00. Needless to say, he was not jumping at the chance to take my money and prove me wrong.
This guy can be a little Fuddy at times, and I think he was having a Fudd moment. He knows I am a retired Police officer. I said I know the crimes code pretty well. (Even, after five years of retirement) So POOFA brain trust, has some mysterious law been squeaked into the books that I am not aware of? Did one get past the goalie? If I am wrong and he proves it, I will pay him. I feel my money will remain safe in my pocket.Aggies Coach Really ??? Take off the tin foil bro.

Not last I checked. Texas on the other hand, has some sort of 51% rule meaning if more than 50% of sales in a bar/restaurant are derived from alcohol, you can't carry. So, if you CCW you have to look for the 51% sticker at a bar/restaurant to to determine if you're legal. Seems like a POA for a state like Texas. Most other prohibited states are blue states like NY, or NJ except Florida, which I believe also prohibits.

I also find it hard to believe that the Berks County Sheriff told him that. Weaknecht is very pro 2A and certainly would know the legalities of that.

IANAL but you can carry in a bar in PA. Sit at the bar and drink but don't drive drunk.
Florida does prohibit in establishments whose primary function is to serve alcohol. (no carry in the bar area of a bar-restaurant, but the restaurant portion is OK.)
Since I had property in both at the same time, I had to remember where I was when I ate out.

I hope the church prohibition is sarcasm otherwise I*ve been a bad boy. Not to mention I know of congregations that have designated carriers for the good of the group. You can*t be to careful these days.

its also not illegal to carry a gun into a bank in PA. carrying a gun in a church is the same as the bank unless the church also houses a school k through 12 as recognized by the PA department of Education.
