Bass Pro bought them years ago, around 2017 or so.

Once that happened I figured the decline was inevitable and it has been. Up to the end Cabelas had their own line of stuff which while often made overseas, usually had at least a touch more quality to it. Plus they emphasized guns, hunting and fishing. Those days are gone. Now the stores are filled with cheap shit, shitty pink colored clothes, toy crap, and in some stores the gun space is squashed in half. And prices are high retail as well. Very few bargains like there used to be. Cabelas used to be a real man's store, but now it reflects the increasingly lazy, ugly, gaying public.

It was absolute corporate takeover too. Cabela's was ruined and pretty much forced to sell to Bass Pro. Such a fucking shame. They used to have decent sales - hell I remember the $99 10/22 doorbuster they had for black Friday one year.

I was sitting here trying to think what the name of the other large outfitter was that closed down not long after going woke with their anti-gun bullshit.

"Gander Mountain". Just a distant memory now.

Wouldn't be surprised to see this end the same way, but they will probably survive by following the lead of Dick's.
Maybe they will sell Bud Light can coozies?
I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!

Cabela's has a similar policy except you can call the cops. My friend says they get ripped off everyday.
One guy filled a cart with 1500.00 in .223 ammo and walked out. He says they call the cops but it's 20-30min
before they show up. He says come on down and take what you want.

I have bought 3 guns from them over time. Last one was my mini 14. They had the best price at the time. I bought it while on another trip. So no extra gas used that way.

The more gun resources fold, the more the 1st Class types will resort to taking guns on a more personal level...burglaries and invasions of homes and motor vehicles, occupied and not...followed by gun laws aimed at mandatory storage, resulting in more murders of people appearing to be uncooperative about opening the storage.
There are two kinds of guns. Those I have acquired, and those I hope to.

If you go through the individual product pages you'll find most are unavailable.
