Default Looking for a decent 9mm for EDC

There are so many options I don’t know where to start. I have a Springfield XDM Elite in .45 and that is a good gun that I intend to keep. It is a little large and heavy for IWB, which is why I am looking for something a little easier and more comfortable to conceal and carry for extended periods of time.
I am on a budget, so I’d Like to keep it around $500 if possible. I know this topic has probably been beaten to death, but it is what it is, and I could use some guidance.
    Thanks, Isaac

Go to the group shoot in July, ask the guys to bring their favorite EDC 9(s) along and check them out.

At this time the Sig 365 variants, The Springfield Hellcat, Glock 43, and the S&W shield are likely the most popular for CC. Taurus makes cheap junk that only a imbecile would buy. Some of the aforementioned might fit your budget, but high end versions that have all the bells and whistles might be pricey.

As was stated in all the other similar threads about this, you need to shoot them to know what fits you best. The group shoot idea is a good one, or go rent a bunch. If that $500 budget includes used guns, there's going to be quite a long list of options. You may be able to narrow it down based on a few key specs like striker vs hammer, mag capacity, size (micro, sub, compact), etc. though.

When and where is the group shoot?

Some good options mentioned above but a good dependable gun for the money is the Canik TP9 Elite SC 9mm. You can find one for around $375-400. They come with two 12 rnd mags so decent capacity for sub compact. I don't have one but I hear the Canik METE MC9 Micro Compact 9mm is a good gun too but it's at or in some cases over your stated price point. Good luck with whatever you end up with!
